Q: WHAT IS YOUR PROCESS LIKE?

A: Easy…

  • You send me your script and tell me a little about your project requirements. Please also let me know how and for how long the audio will be used and for what and I’ll send you a quote within the day. Retakes and revisions are covered here.

  • Once we agree to move forward, we discuss the creative direction, tone and style of the read you’re looking for. If you’d like to jump on a call before the recording, let’s do that. I’m a big believer in good communication.

  • Unless you record the session from your end via session link, I can record, edit, and send you the audio.

  • You sign off the audio or request any retakes.

  • I send you the invoice.

  • You pay the invoice. Please be aware that new clients or international (outside the US and Europe) clients are required to pay a deposit.

  • We bask in the afterglow. :)

DO YOU HAVE A HOME STUDIO?

A: Yes, for home recordings, I use a Rode NT mic, edit with Adobe Audition, and use Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones. For live sessions, I can offer Source Connect, Cleanfeed, and other platforms, such as Zoom or Skype. I highly recommend Cleanfeed or Source Connect as they provide better audio quality. I make “safety copies” during each session to cover potential dropouts and guarantee a successful delivery :-)

Q: CAN YOU DO LIVE, DIRECTED SESSIONS?

A: Absolutely. I prefer Cleanfeed for its user-friendliness but I can offer other platforms like Source Connect or Zoom. On the day of the session, you’ll join me through a link, can direct me live, and hear the audio right off the booth mic. If you prefer recording the session from your end, I highly recommend SC or Cleanfeed. Otherwise, I can either send you the raw session or the final, edited file.

Q: CAN YOU DO LIVE SESSIONS VIA SOURCE-CONNECT?

A: Yes, and I have the paid Standard Source Connect version. I also offer sessions via Cleanfeed.

Q: IS THERE AN EXTRA FEE FOR LIVE SESSIONS?

A: A live session is, of course, included in your quote if you like to work live. The session fee is paid upfront when you book, and that fee is subtracted from your final invoice.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

A: Each project is unique so I customize my quote according to the project requirements. The more I know about your project, the more accurate quote I can give you. For high-volume jobs, I do offer discounts. For any questions, drop me a line :-)

Q: HOW ARE RATES QUOTED?

A: There are several factors considered for each quote, some of them are:

  • Genre
What type of project is it? For example, broadcast commercials, corporate narrations, explainer videos, telephony (IVR or message on hold), eLearning, medical narrations, etc.

  • Length
How long is the finished project? This can be measured in time, word count, or page count depending on the genre.

  • Usage
Where and how will the product be used? For broadcast (TV and/or radio, which markets, how many markets, size of markets), web (on a website, for paid web advertising, social media, YouTube, etc), internal corporate use, etc.

  • Duration
How long will the voiceover be used? 3 months? 6 months? 1 year?

Q: WHAT IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME?

A: On average, I turn around typical projects in two business days or less. If you need an extra-tight turnaround, by all means, let’s chat! Larger projects and fully produced pieces (with music, sound effects, etc.) may take longer and depend on the scope.

Q: HOW ARE THE FINAL FILES DELIVERED?

A: Short answer: Any way you like.

I can output files in any professional format, and typically deliver them via email or Google Drive. If you have another preferred delivery method (Dropbox, Wetransfer etc.), just let me know.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON RETAKES AND REVISIONS?

A: Non-script-correct mistakes on my part are always fixed for free, of course. I want you to be happy with the final recording. For the complete policy on retakes and revisions, please have a look here.
